IDA and Rolling Arrays Collaborate on New Training Programme to Grow Singapore’s Cloud HR Talent

Sep9, 2016 Singapore

Rolling Arrays has launched a new innovative training program that is aimed at providing opportunities to young Singaporean candidates (fresh Grads and those with less than 3 years of experience) to trace the depths of all key areas of HR Transformation and various HRIS (SAP HR, SuccessFactors and other Cloud HR Systems) and equip them with best practice knowledge to gain a competitive edge in the world of HR Transformation.

The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and Rolling Arrays, collaborated for Cloud HR Consultant Training Programme, a collaboration under the IDA’s Company-led Training Programme (CLT) to train the future workforce and meet the growing demand for end to end Cloud HR Consultants in Singapore. Rolling Arrays having more than 100 HR transformation projects across Asia to its credit, is the first mid-size company to have come into collaboration with IDA’s CLT programme.

Under this training program, candidates are undergoing intensive training including online training, classroom learning, self assessment as well as the on-the-job training to prepare them for constantly changing HR and business needs covering various aspects of HR Transformation including HR consulting, HRIS implementation, change management and support services. This approach broadens the knowledge base of the candidates by indulging in real-time challenging classroom discussions, self evaluation tests, a mentor-driven on-the-job training to experience real business world that will help them provide immediate value and impact on the job.

Manu Khetan, CEO of Rolling Arrays, said, “One of the common challenges that HR Transformation has faced in the past is how technical teams and HR teams speak different languages. For last several years, we have built a team which is equally proficient in HR process, functions, trends and technology as well to successfully deliver end-to-end HR transformation. However, there is a shortage of talent proficient in this area in the market. With our experience in building a team to meet shortage of skilled resources by taking the development and talent management insights we have as a HR Transformation organization, we are glad to collaborate with IDA to fill this skill gap in Singapore market by training young professionals to be equally comfortable with business and technology”.

This is part of a collaboration under the Infocomm Development Authority’s Company-Led Training Prog which is a structured development programme aimed at enabling fresh and mid-level professionals to acquire specialist, expert or mastery-level competencies for jobs in demand by the industry, especially those that support Smart Nation projects, including cyber security, data analytics, software development, Internet of Things and network and communications platforms.

Rolling Arrays, in addition to helping young Singaporeans achieve a robust understanding of the HR Transformation, is the first company in IDA’s Company-led Training (CLT) Programme to provide with an overseas attachment. That is, it furnishes opportunities for candidates to work at overseas locations for upto 3 months with an aim to fast-track professionals with less than three years of working experience to take on specialist-level jobs.

Mr Khoong Hock Yun, Assistant Chief Executive of IDA, said, “To stay up-to-date in this competitive marketplace, it’s imperative for tech professionals to upskill, reskill or work towards deepening their ICT skills. That’s why we hope to see more companies taking advantage of the Company-Led Training Programme which offers the industry great opportunities for growth and advancement.”

In an increasingly globalised world, businesses are not restricted to their home country for project execution and relationship building with their customers. Rolling Arrays presence in numerous countries in South East Asia helping trainees to get international exposure and enhance skills and help deepen their knowledge on the multi dimensions and complexities associated with implementation of an multi-geographical HR Transformation project. It also gives them the opportunity to step back and gain new perspectives on different cultures, challenges and work ethics of different countries to get in touch with real world of businesses.
